Rumor: Under Armour To Offer Kevin Durant $30 Million Per Year

Kevin Durant becomes a sneaker free agent this week and that means the offers are about to start pouring in for the young superstar. Currently KD is under a 7 year $60 Million contract which looks like pennies compared to what Under Armour could offer Durant. NY Daily News reports UA is looking to offer Kevin Durant at least $30 Million a year! Holy spaghetti and meatballs Batman! To put things into perspective LeBron James makes $15 Million a year from his current Nike contract.

Under Armour’s head quarters are in KD’s backyard in Maryland which could be a strong playing card outside of the obvious financial benefit from signing. If this deal were to happen Kevin Durant would be making more money from sneakers than actually playing Basketball in the NBA.

Kevin Durant on the sneaker bidding war:
“I’m just going to let my team be the ones who handle that behind the scenes, I guess. When you look at stuff like that, it’s great problems to have because people want you for what you know and do on the basketball court, the work you put in, so I’m going to continue to put my work in, let them focus on that on the other end, and we’ll come together at some point.”
Again this is just a rumor with a lead, we will keep you up to date on Under Armour’s campaign to land Kevin Durant during sneaker free agency. via The Shoe Game
